Who can enroll in your permanent makeup courses?
Our courses are open to women from all backgrounds, whether you’re new to beauty or an experienced professional looking to upskill. We welcome complete beginners and those already working in the industry.
Is Studio Brows Academy a VTCT approved training centre?
Yes. Studio Brows Academy is a VTCT approved centre offering regulated Permanent Makeup qualification routes in Brows and Lip Blush.
Our current Level 4 PMU qualifications include:
VTCT Skills Level 4 Award in Eyebrow Micropigmentation Techniques (BT4A21)
VTCT Skills Level 4 Award in Lip Micropigmentation Techniques (BT4A23)
VTCT Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology is also included where required as part of the qualification route.
Do I need any prior experience?
No previous experience is required. Our courses are designed for both complete beginners and beauty professionals who want to expand their skills.
Where does the training take place?
All training is held in our private, welcoming studio in Wilmington, Kent—easily accessible for students from Kent, London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, and beyond.
How long does the training take?How long does the training take?
Our PMU courses include 3 days of in-person, hands-on training at our studio. After this, you’ll complete your case studies and coursework at your own pace, with ongoing support from me every step of the way. Most students finish all requirements and qualify within a few weeks, but you have up to 6 months to complete the course from initial registration.
Do your courses include a kit?
Yes! All our courses come with a full luxury kit, carefully selected to provide you with everything you need to start your permanent makeup journey with confidence.
What support do you offer after the course?
We provide ongoing support, resources, and business advice to all our graduates, helping you build a successful PMU career even after you qualify.
What qualifications will I receive?
You’ll receive a nationally recognised Level 3 or Level 4 VTCT Skills qualification in eyebrow micropigmentation, opening doors to a professional career in permanent makeup.

Policies & Payments
Is my deposit refundable or transferable?
No, all deposits are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable. Please be sure you can attend your chosen course date before booking.
Can I cancel or reschedule my course after booking?
Once your deposit is received, your course booking is non-refundable and non-transferable. This means we cannot offer refunds or move your booking to another date or person.
Do you offer payment plans?
We offer flexible payment options through PayItMonthly and Payl8r, allowing you to spread the cost of your course rather than paying the full amount upfront.
PayItMonthly
PayItMonthly is our preferred payment option and allows you to spread the cost of your purchase over monthly instalments.
PayItMonthly is a form of credit that allows you to spread the cost of your purchase over monthly instalments. You must be 18 or over, a UK resident (excluding the Channel Islands), and meet our eligibility criteria. All credit is subject to status and affordability checks. Late or missed payments could impact your ability to access credit in the future.
PayItMonthly is deemed authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for the purposes of the Temporary Permissions Regime for Regulated Deferred Payment Credit. Payl8r is also available as an alternative finance option.
Studio Brows Academy LTD is an Introducer Appointed Representative of Social Money Limited t/a Payl8r who is authorised by the FCA under Ref. Number 675283. Credit is subject to creditworthiness and affordability assessments. Missed payments may affect your credit file, future borrowing and incur fees.

What happens if I miss a day of training?
You must attend all scheduled training days to receive your certificate. One extra training day is included if needed, but any additional days are charged at £399 per day.
Will I receive a certificate after the course?
Certificates are awarded upon successful completion of the course and assessments. Please note that attending the course alone doesn’t guarantee certification – you’ll need to meet all criteria and standards set out in the program.
Do I need insurance or a special licence to take the course?
Yes, students are responsible for arranging their own insurance and any necessary special treatment licence as required by their local council. We’re happy to offer guidance if you’re unsure what you need!
Where can I train in Permanent Makeup in Kent?
Studio Brows Academy offers Permanent Makeup training from our academy in Dartford, Kent, with students travelling to us from London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Surrey and across the South East.
Training is available in Brows, Lip Blush or both, with small-group and 1:1 options available.
Is Studio Brows Academy a VTCT approved training centre?
Yes. Studio Brows Academy is a VTCT approved centre offering qualification routes including VTCT Level 4 Micropigmentation in Brows and Lip Blush.
Do I need previous beauty or PMU experience?
You don't need previous Permanent Makeup experience to join our beginner training.
Where a Level 3 prerequisite is required for the Level 4 qualification, VTCT Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology is included within our training package.
What PMU training courses do you offer?

VTCT Level 4 conversion courses for already-trained artists
This means you can choose the route most suited to your existing experience and the treatments you want to offer.
Do your courses include a VTCT Level 4 qualification?
Our core PMU training packages include the appropriate VTCT Level 4 qualification route.
We currently offer Level 4 training in Brows and Lip Blush, as well as conversion options for experienced artists who need to upgrade existing training.
What's the difference between an accredited PMU certificate and a VTCT Level 4 qualification?
An accredited training certificate and an Ofqual-regulated qualification are not the same thing.
Studio Brows offers VTCT Level 4 qualification routes alongside practical PMU training. This is particularly important to investigate before choosing a course because licensing and insurance requirements can vary by local authority and provider.
Always check the current requirements of the council and insurer relevant to where you intend to work.
Can I train in just Lip Blush?
Yes. You can train specifically in Lip Blush without completing the combined Brow & Lip Blush course.
Our Lip Blush-only training is available for beginners, and conversion training is also available for suitably experienced artists.
Can I train in just Permanent Makeup Brows?
Yes. We offer dedicated Brow training covering modern machine techniques including Ombré, Combination and Nano Brows.
You don't have to complete Lip Blush training if you only want to specialise in brows.
Do you still teach Microblading?
Our current Brow training focuses on modern machine-based PMU techniques, including Nano, Ombré and Combination Brows.
How many students are on each PMU course?
Small-group training is limited to a maximum of two students, allowing plenty of individual guidance and hands-on support.
1:1 training is also available on request.
Will I work on real models during my training?
Yes. Practical experience is a major part of Studio Brows training, with students working on live models under trainer guidance as part of developing their skills and confidence.
How long is the combined Beginner Brow & Lip Blush course?
The combined beginner programme includes four training days.
The programme covers PMU foundations, practical Brow training, Lip Blush training and assessment/final development.
Day 4 can be scheduled remotely where appropriate.
Students then complete any remaining required case studies and qualification requirements with ongoing support.
What happens after my training days?
Your support doesn't finish when your practical training ends.
Students receive ongoing mentorship with no expiry, along with support while completing their case studies and qualification requirements.
You'll also receive Studio Brows' 40,000-word Client Growth Blueprint and Social Media Roadmap to help you begin building your portfolio and attracting clients.
Is a professional PMU kit included?
Yes. Our beginner PMU training packages include a professional PMU kit so you have the equipment required to continue practising and developing your skills after training.
Do you teach students how to start their PMU business?
Yes. Training goes beyond the practical treatment.
Students receive guidance around launching, social media, finding models, building a portfolio and attracting their first clients, alongside their practical PMU education.
How much does PMU training cost at Studio Brows Academy?
Our current combined Brow & Lip Blush training package is £4,050, with a total training package value of £7,795.
Brow-only and Lip-Blush-only training are currently £2,500 each, and eligible VTCT conversion courses are £1,200.
Can I pay for PMU training monthly?
Flexible payment options are available through PayItMonthly and Payl8r, subject to eligibility, status and affordability.

Where is Studio Brows Academy?
Studio Brows Academy is based in Dartford, Kent, making it accessible for students travelling from Kent, South East London, Essex and surrounding areas.
Students also travel to us from Hertfordshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and further afield.
What should I look for when choosing a PMU training academy?
Before booking PMU training, I'd recommend checking:
• What qualification you'll actually receive
• Whether it meets your local council and insurer's requirements
• How much hands-on model experience is included
• Class sizes
• Who is actually teaching you and their industry experience
• What support you'll receive after the course
• Whether additional case studies or assessments are required
Don't choose a course based solely on the number of training days or the cheapest price. Make sure you understand the complete qualification route before enrolling.
Can I convert my existing PMU certificate to VTCT Level 4?
Studio Brows offers VTCT Level 4 conversion courses for eligible already-trained PMU artists.
If you already hold PMU training but need a different qualification route for licensing, insurance or professional development, contact us with details of your existing certificates and the treatment area you've trained in. We can then advise which Studio Brows training route is appropriate.
