YOU'VE FINISHED YOUR PMU TRAINING, RECEIVED YOUR CERTIFICATE… BUT YOUR COUNCIL WON'T ACCEPT IT?!

I've had SO many conversations recently with students who have completed their PMU training, received their certificate, gone to register/licence themselves with their local council…
…and then been told their qualification isn't accepted.
And honestly, it's so upsetting because so many simply weren't aware of the requirements before they booked their original training.
Licensing requirements vary depending on where you plan to work, and some councils — particularly London boroughs — have very specific qualification requirements.
For example, Bexley requires an Ofqual-regulated Level 4 qualification for micropigmentation.
An accredited training certificate alone isn't necessarily enough.
This is exactly why I always tell students:
Before choosing a PMU course, check what YOUR local council requires.
Don't just ask, “Will I get a certificate?”
Ask:
“Will this qualification allow me to legally register/licence and work where I live?”
There is a HUGE difference.
At Studio Brows Academy, the correct qualification pathway is something I take really seriously. Where a Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology qualification is required as a prerequisite to your Level 4 pathway, I include this as standard.
Because what's the point in investing thousands into training, putting in all that work and leaving with a certificate… only to discover you can't use it to get licensed?
🤍 Already trained and found yourself in this position? DON'T PANIC.
I offer PMU conversion courses for existing artists who need to obtain the regulated qualification required by their council.
You don't necessarily need to start your PMU education from scratch.
If you're an artist/student who's been told your current certificate isn't accepted, or you're an academy with students who need a regulated qualification pathway, drop me a message with the word CONVERSION.
I'll talk you through the process and what you'll need.
